Member registration is open July 1–7. Please only sign up during this period if you are a current member. Public sign-ups open July 8.*** \nProject Name:  Petersen Yurt  \nProject Dates:  September 26-27  \nITA's Women in the Wild trail projects are designed to create a supportive\, empowering\, and fun environment where women can learn new skills\, build confidence\, and connect with others who share a love for the outdoors. These all-female trail crews provide a unique space for volunteers to work together\, gain hands-on experience in trail maintenance\, and make a lasting impact on Idaho's public lands.  \nThis is the fourth year that ITA and Idaho Parks and Recreation have partnered to help clear and open trails in the Idaho City Yurt trail system!  After big windstorms over the winter\, there are more down trees than typical\, so lots of fun crosscut work is expected! This area is known for its scenic views and wide variety of recreational activities all year long. We'll spend a weekend working mostly on clearing logs and brushing with potential for some tread repair and replacing trail signs. In the evening\, volunteers have been invited to stay at the brand new Petersen Yurt and take advantage of its kitchen\, fire pit\, and outhouse. Crews can stay at the yurt starting Friday afternoon. Trail work all Saturday. Sunday–leave the yurt clean before heading out for another trail workday. We've had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee\, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservation. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you require assistance in paying for this fee\, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.   \nDifficulty Rating  \nHike: 2/5 Moderate – Yurt trails are typically an easy grade\, with some short climbs up to the yurts. Exact mileage may vary but hiking 2-5 miles a day with tools and day packs.   \nProject Work: 3/5 Moderately Strenuous – Several windstorms over the winter mean no shortage of downed trees to saw out this year.
