On National Trails Day, we’ll work on this very popular 3.5-mile hiking trail right outside of the town of Sandpoint, Idaho. Mickinnick gains 2,200 feet from the valley bottom to reach a beautiful viewpoint far above the city.

Itinerary: The crew leader will specify meeting time & place for the morning, work until midafternoon.

Hike: 3/5 Moderately Strenuous
About three miles to the peak, but with noted elevation (about 2200 feet).  Carry day packs and tools. See the linked map for the elevation profile.

Project Work: 2/5 Moderate
We’ll cut out logs, do tread work, improve drainage, and trim back brush.  Digging, swinging tools, bending, and kneeling for saw work.
