Join us for a National Public Lands Day volunteer trail work project on the North Fork Gibson Trail. This lush riparian trail follows the creek up toward Elk Meadows. If folks are up to it, we may hike the loop back to cars, stopping at Gibson Mountain to take in the views.

Itinerary: Meet at the trailhead in the morning; work until midafternoon.

About three miles from the trailhead to the connecting trail, uphill climb with 1,100 feet elevation gain. Carrying day packs and tools. See the linked map for the elevation profile. 

Project Work: 2/5 Moderate
We’ll improve drainage and trim back brush on the trail. Digging, swinging tools, bending, and kneeling for saw work.   Some digging and wheelbarrow work is required to complete the bridge approach fill.
