Join us for a Women in the Wild project in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. We will car camp at Paradise Campground and each day work down the Selway River trail clearing brush and improving tread. The trail follows the river, winding through the canyon known for its pristine wilderness and wildlife. We’ll enjoy the luxuries of car camping and meals will be prepared for us by an ITA volunteer cook.
Trail: Selway River Trail #4
Itinerary: Meet Sunday Afternoon at Paradise Campground. Monday – Friday, brush up Selway River Trail (day off mid-week to relax or explore). Saturday – pack up after breakfast and head home.
Crew Leader: Elizabeth Bridges
More Information: All Trails
Estimated Drive Time from Closest Town: Approximately three hours from Darby, Montana
GAIA Map: Selway River Trail
Non-refundable trail project fee: $50
Why do I need to pay a fee to volunteer for this trip? The fees collected will help to cover the costs of providing food and other expenses related to planning a multi-day project in the backcountry. We’ve had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a fee, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservation. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. If you require assistance in paying for this fee, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.
