Join us for a fall day of work on parts of the 20-mile-long Timber Mountain trail in the Bonners Ferry Ranger District. The trail is in a scenic area with lots of history and an old mining settlement. We’ll focus on parts of the trail needing repair.  

Trail: Timber Mountain Trail #51 

Itinerary: The crew leader will specify meeting time & place for the morning and the crew will work until midafternoon.

Hike: 3/5 Moderately Strenuous
Hike in is a steady uphill climb. The first four miles climbs about 2,400 feet. See the linked map for the elevation profile.

Project Work: 3/5 Moderately Strenuous
Work will include sawing, brush removal, and tread repair. Repeated digging or sawing. Carrying tools and days packs. Volunteers can pick trail duties based on comfort and ability level and are encouraged to work at their own pace.
