Project Name: North Fork Boise River

Dates: July 19-20

ITA is partnering with Backcountry Hunters and Anglers for a weekend of trail work on the North Fork of the Boise River. Starting at the Deer Park Guard Station, this trail follows the river as it winds past granite cliffs and lush pine forest. Known for its access to swimming and fishing, this gem of the Boise National Forest gets blocked by brush and logs and further in, there are landslides which restrict access. Volunteers will spend a weekend working as far up as we can to chip away at opening this trail for the summer season.

Trails: North Fork Boise River Trail #57

Itinerary: This is a weekend project. Welcome to camp Friday afternoon, and trail work starts Saturday morning. Sunday, half day and head home in the afternoon.

Food Provided by ITA: No

Crew Leader: Barry Johnson and Greg Hart

Estimated Drive Time from Closest Town: 2 hours from Idaho City

Trail Map: Click for trail map and elevation profile

Refundable deposit: $25

Why do I need to pay a deposit? We’ve had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservation. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you require assistance in paying for this fee, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.
