Project Name: Trapper Creek

Project Dates: September 20-21

This project will be our only boat-In project in North Idaho. We will be camping at Trapper Creek Campsite on the north-east end of Upper Priest Lake with gorgeous views of the lake and a sandy beach for swimming and fishing. We will be working on a three-mile section of trail from the campsite north to the road. This has not been maintained in some time and may require a lot of brushing. This piece of trail connects fully around Upper Priest Lake to the Navigation Trail and allows hikers to fully loop Upper Priest Lake. It is also a portion of the Idaho Centennial Trail (ICT), which runs about 1,000 miles through all of Idaho, which we are currently being funded to maintain. This beautiful remote campsite will be a great option for those seeking a wilderness experience!

Refundable deposit: $25

Why do I need to pay a deposit? We’ve had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservation. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you require assistance in paying for this fee, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.

Difficulty Rating
