Last fall, ITA volunteers collected over a million sagebrush seeds during our Military Reserve Seed collection project in collaboration with Ridge to Rivers! Now it is time for the second step in the effort to rewild areas of the Boise Foothills where land has been disturbed and the native flora has been damaged or destroyed. We will meet at Freestone Trailhead in Military Reserve for a safety briefing and get to work planting Sagebrush with help from Ridge to Rivers Restoration Specialists. Bring work gloves and dress for the variable Idaho weather.
Difficulty Rating: 1 – Easy: Trail work is performed near or a short distance from a trailhead. Work is typically performed with a larger group. Minimal gear may be carried.
More Info: Idaho Matters Interview with Martha
Driving Directions: The Freestone trailhead is located on Mountain Cove Road 0.9 miles from the Reserve Street Intersection. The trailhead is on the east side of the road and there is a pit toilet at that location. If participants get to the dead end of the road, they have gone too far
