Project Name: Grandjean Sawtooth Wilderness Trails
Project Description: We’ll be working on the South Fork Payette River Trail out of the Grandjean Campground. Work will involve routine trail maintenance including logout, brushing, drains, and rock removal. There are several other trails nearby to continue work on should water levels be too high for safe creek crossing. There is a first come first served campground in Grandjean with fire rings, pit toilets, picnic tables, and water for the crew to camp at. Sawtooth Lodge, in Grandjean, is usually open in June and they have a kitchen, milkshakes, and a thermal pool. Sacajawea hot springs is nearby for after work soaks as well, but it may be partially or totally submerged due to high water.
Difficulty Rating: 2 – Moderate: Day trip trail work is performed a small to medium distance from a trailhead. Volunteers will carry a daypack and tools.
Estimated Drive Time to Meeting Spot: 2.5 hours from Boise
