August 25th Update- Please note the dates for this project have changed from September 16th-18th to September 23rd – 25th.

Volunteers will Jetboat up from Pittsburg Landing midday Friday to the Kirkwood Historical ranch where we will camp for the weekend. We’ll be working with the Forest Service to remove approximately 31,000 pounds of concrete from the old bridge site in order to replace the bridge at the ranch. After work we’ll explore the ranch and museum. On Sunday a jetboat will pick us back and take us back to the trailhead at Pittsburg Landing.

Difficulty Rating: 2 – Moderate: Daily trail work is performed a small to medium distance from a trailhead. Volunteers will carry all their gear 5 miles back at the end of the trip.

More Information: All Trails

Estimated Drive Time to Meeting Spot: About 1.5 hours from Riggins, or 1 hour from White Bird.

Road Considerations: Pittsburg Landing is about 19 miles from Whitebird Idaho on a gravel forest service road. The road gets steep, narrow and winding for the last few miles but is passable for any safe driver. Watch out for RVs and vehicles pulling trailers!
