PROJECT POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING! Due to the ground being frozen around the spring, we will have to postpone this project until things warm up.
Volunteers are needed for a one-day project in the Owyhee Uplands.
The goal of this project is to smooth over the sides and fill in the dugout of an illegally developed spring. The spring will be fenced to allow it to recover. While not trail work, this project adds value to our public lands adjacent to the Pole Creek Wilderness and is a chance to explore the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway.
Join us the night before for a dinner provided in partnership with the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers – Idaho Chapter, and for car camping near the project location.
Difficulty Rating: Hike in – Easy, about half a mile off trail on rocky flat terrain. Project Work – Moderate/Difficult. Breaking up dirt and lots of shoveling.

Approximately 2-hour drive. We will be meeting near the Mud Flat Admin. site Tuesday Morning. (Camp location TBD if you’re camping with us the night before!) The Mud Flat Road is very washboard in some places. A two-wheel drive vehicle is fine unless we get lots of wet weather.
