ITA volunteers will work again on the beautiful historic Pulaski Memorial trail near Wallace. The trail travels about 3 ½ miles to the old mine tunnel where Ed Pulaski saved many members of a crew that were fighting the huge 1910 forest fire that burned through the area. The trail has many signs and displays that tell the story of the fire, the rescue, and the aftermath of the disaster in 1910. We’ll remove brush, fix water drainage, and do some tread work to help keep this popular hiking trail maintained.
Difficulty Rating: 2 – Moderate: Day trip trail work is performed a small to medium distance from a trailhead. Volunteers will carry a daypack and tools.
