Last fall ITA volunteers collected over a million sagebrush seeds during our Military Reserve Seed collection project in collaboration with Ridge to Rivers! This spring, we planted 300 new sagebrush in Military reserve.

Sagebrush is considered to be a foundational species of the Great Basin desert. These shrubs serve as homes and food sources for many species as well as help stabilize soils and reduce erosion. We will be planting sagebrush at Hillside to Hollow Reserve to rehabilitate disturbed areas due to recent trail improvements and enhance wildlife habitat on 10/22.

Difficulty Rating: 1 – Easy: Trail work is performed near or a short distance from a trailhead. Work is typically performed with a larger group. Minimal gear may be carried.
