SUMMARY:2026 Shingle Flat
DESCRIPTION:Project Name: Shingle Flat  \nProject Dates: June 6  \nVolunteers will spend National Trails Day working on the Payette National Forest's Shingle Flat Loop trail just a few minutes north of Council\, Idaho. Work will focus mostly on improving the tread and cutting back intermittent patches of brush. This is a popular trail for day hikers\, runners and local equestrians and offers beautiful views of the Council Valley and has been an annual project for ITA for the last few years. The wildflowers should be out on the open slopes\, too!    \nThis project is on National Trails Day! Held on the first Saturday in June\, this is a day dedicated to advocacy and trail service through public events. Volunteers from across the country unite to work on trail projects and give back to their local communities\, committed to improving trails for others.
