SUMMARY:2026 Wood River Trails Coalition Project
DESCRIPTION:Project Name: Wood River Trails Coalition Project   \nProject Dates: July 17-19  \nITA's Women in the Wild trail projects are designed to create a supportive\, empowering\, and fun environment where women can learn new skills\, build confidence\, and connect with others who share a love for the outdoors. These all-female trail crews provide a unique space for volunteers to work together\, gain hands-on experience in trail maintenance\, and make a lasting impact on Idaho's public lands.  \nITA's Women in the Wild program will be joining the Wood River Trails Coalition (WRTC) for a weekend project clearing trail in the Hemmingway Boulder Wilderness.  At the SNRA headquarters\, the road heads north along the North Fork Big Wood River. We'll camp in a dispersed site along this road and carpool the last few miles to the trailhead to access trails in the Hemmingway Boulder Wilderness. We'll work on North Fork West Pass trail\, working on a section of trail along a steep side slope that has narrowed and is difficult to traverse\, especially on horseback.   \nProject information is subject to change. Crew leaders will communicate via email. Failure to respond to your crew leader may result in being dropped from the project. See our FAQs\, reach out to your crew leader\, or contact ITA staff at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org if you have questions.  \nTrails: North Fork West Pass #115 \nItinerary: This is a three-day project. Meet Thursday afternoon/evening if possible to set up camp and go over trail work basics and safety. Friday and Saturday\, work full days on the trails. Sunday\, wrap up trail work in the morning\, clean up camp and head home.   \nFood Provided by ITA: No   \nGear Packing List: Gear Checklist for Car Camping\, Bring Your Own Food   \nCrew Leader: Dagmar Rapp   \nEstimated Drive Time from Closest Town: 30 Minutes from Ketchum   \nTrail Map: Click for trail map and elevation profile  \nRefundable deposit: $25  \nWhy do I need to pay a deposit? We've had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute\, which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee\, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservations. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you require assistance in paying for this fee\, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.   \nDifficulty Rating  \nHike: 3/5 Moderately Strenuous – Exact trail TBD; trails in the area typically follow creek beds\, gaining elevation. Potential for small creek crossings. Carrying day packs and trail tools.  \nProject Work: 3/5 Moderately Strenuous – Brushing and widening tread\, bending\, kneeling\, digging. Volunteers can choose trail duties based on comfort and ability level and are encouraged to work at their own pace.  \nVolunteer Spots Available: 0 of \nIf there are no volunteer spots available\, click “Sign Up” to get on our waitlist for this project! \nWaitlist Signups: 0 \nSign Up×Sign Up\n\n \n \n Waitlist Sign-up\n \n "*" indicates required fields \n \n This is a waitlist signup form not a signup to register for the project.
