Two Wolf Foundation and ITA are teaming up to help clear the Mash Creek Trail in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. We’ll work on the first four miles towards Big Hole, and down the Bear Valley Trail if we get that far. Past fires in the area mean trees will continue to fall, blocking or slowing access. Brush and falling rocks also impact the trail each year. After work each day, we’ll return to camp near the trailhead.
This trail offers hikers, backpackers, fishermen, and hot spring enthusiasts a chance to explore the headwaters of the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork of the Salmon River. This section is also part of the Idaho Centennial Trail, which ITA is dedicated to continuing to help maintain each year.
