I believe that being and recreating in the outdoors is fundamentally good for all of us. It has become clear that many opportunities to experience being on Public Lands are threatened by a movement that appears designed to transfer public lands to private ownership and subsequent development. Public Lands are the birthright of our public and should remain an asset of the people.
Idaho Trails works to keep “Idaho’s hiking trails open for all” which is an important part in helping to insure access to Public Lands for all. Forest Service and other public land owners have experienced a long dwindling of budgets and it is now necessary for the public to provide treasury and mussel in the effort to keep these lands open.
Please continue supporting the Idaho Trails Association through your Membership, volunteerism, your treasury, and continuing to use our public lands and trails. Absent a cataclysmic volcanic eruption, land available for “quiet” outdoor recreation is not being made and is only in danger of shrinking through abandonment, urbanization and development.
