Project Name: North Fork Wood River
Forest/ Wilderness: Hemingway-Boulder Wilderness, SNRA
Project Description:
On this trip, volunteers will work and explore the Hemingway-Boulder Wilderness. We will camp together in a dispersed camping site near the North Fork Wood River Trailhead. Over 16 miles of trail are accessed from here, and each day we’ll work further in, clearing the trails of brush and downed trees, as well as improving the drainage and tread on the trails.
Itinerary: Meeting Friday evening or Saturday morning, carpool to the trailhead and work full day Saturday. Sunday, wrap up trail work in the morning, clean up camp and head home.
Food Provided by ITA: No
Estimated Drive Time from Closest Town: Five miles from the SNRA headquarters. 30 minutes north of Ketchum, Idaho.
Refundable deposit: $25
Why do I need to pay a deposit? We’ve had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservation. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you require assistance in paying for this fee, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.
