Volunteer Trail Work Project

2024 Shingle Flat Trail (Full)

Loading Events

Volunteers will spend National Trails Day working on the Payette National Forest’s Shingle Flat Loop trail just a few minutes north of Council, Idaho. Work will focus mostly on improving the tread and cutting back intermittent patches of brush on the 2-mile loop trail and the 1.5 miles that runs north of the loop to the Shingle Flat dispersed camp area. This is a popular trail for day hikers, runners and local equestrians and offers beautiful views of the Council Valley. The wildflowers should be out on the open slopes, too!

Project information is subject to change. Crew leaders will communicate via email. Failure to respond to your crew leader may result in being dropped from the project. See our FAQs, reach out to your crew leader, or contact ITA staff at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org if you have questions.
