Join us for an incredible food-supported trail project on Cataract Creek! We'll be based at Rodney and his family's beautiful cabin, where they'll be generously preparing hearty meals for the crew throughout the weekend. While we'll be camping outside the cabin, volunteers will enjoy access to the cabin's restroom facilities—a welcome comfort after a day on the trail.
Our work will focus on reopening Cataract Creek Trail, a remote gem in the Coeur d'Alene Ranger District that has been inaccessible for many years. We'll clear fallen trees and brush to restore safe passage and bring this beautiful trail back to life for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
We'll car camp just outside the cabin, only a short walk from the trail, making for easy mornings and relaxing evenings around camp. With delicious home-cooked meals, convenient amenities, and the chance to help restore a long-neglected trail, this project offers a rewarding weekend of hard work, great company, and a meaningful impact on public lands.

Trails: Cataract Creek #309
Itinerary: This is a weekend project. We will have a camp Friday night at the trailhead, and we encourage you to join us to get to know each other before a weekend of working together. The crew leader will specify the meeting time and place in their pre-trip emails. Beginning Saturday morning for a day of trail work, camping near the trailhead. Finishing Sunday afternoon.

Refundable deposit: $25
Why do I need to pay a deposit? We've had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute, which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservations. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you require assistance in paying for this fee, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.
