2026 Fall Crosscut Certification: First time crosscut certification & Recertification Training
Dates: November 14 & 15
Join us for our fall crosscut training! This session is geared toward first time crosscut certifications for volunteers and recertifications for crew leaders. We’ll spend Saturday in the classroom covering safety and technique, then move to the field for hands-on crosscut certification Sunday.
In order to receive a Saw Certification you must have certificates in First Aid with CPR. You can do this online anytime through Red Cross or through ITA on October 24-25 ($30 per person, space is limited). If you decide to do First Aid training later, you will receive your official saw certification card after you have finished first aid.Â
Location: Classroom held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho at Fernan Ranger Station. Field certifications will take place at English Point, in an area from this spring’s prescribed burn. Plenty of downed wood across varied slopes.
More information will be sent via email before the project. You’re welcome to reach out to Barbara at barbara@idahotrailsassociation.org if you have any questions.
Itinerary:
Saturday: 8am-3pm classroom session at Fernan Ranger Station in Coeur d’Alene.
Sunday: 8am-3pm field certifications (or until done) at English Point, Hayden.
