2026 Fall CLEM: Crew Leader Recertification & Trail Skills Training
Dates: October 3-4
Join us for our fall CLEM, crew leader recertification and saw skills training. This session is geared toward leaders due for saw recertification, along with new deputy leaders looking to build skills. We’ll spend Saturday morning in the classroom covering safety and technique, then move to the field for hands-on crosscut certification through Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
In order to receive a Saw Certification you must be up to date in First Aid and CPR.
Location: [Pending confirmation] Classroom held in McCall Idaho. Field certifications will take place at sites near Goose Creek, in an area from this spring’s prescribed burn. Plenty of downed wood across varied slopes.
Camping TBDÂ but dry/car camping tentatively available at the Gordon Titus trailhead parking lot (vault toilet on site). First Come First Serve at camp sites nearby. Some folks may prefer to head home each night or book a room in town.
More information will be sent via email before the project. You’re welcome to reach out to Alex at alex@idahotrailsassociation.org if you have any questions.
Itinerary:
Saturday: 8am-12pm classroom session. Travel to field site. 1-5pm field certifications. Sunday: 8am-3pm field certifications (or until done).
