Project Name: Settlers Cedar Grove
Project Date: July 31 – August 2
In this incredible area of the Idaho Panhandle National Forest is the Settlers Grove Ancient Cedar Grove. ITA will be working on the Settler's Grove Interpretive Trail, which follows the west fork of Eagle Creek, crossing over foot bridges through ancient cedars, some estimated at over 600 years old. We will be car camping amongst these giants for a three-day project working on maintaining this popular and unique trail.
A fire in 2015 means smaller trees will fall on the trail each year, and there are reports of thicker brush that will need to clear further down the trail. Last year, the trail was logged out by the forest service and ITA volunteers. We will be maintaining it for continued use.

Trails: Settler's Grove Interpretive Trail #162
Itinerary: This is a three-day project. The crew leader will specify the meeting time and place in their pre-trip emails. Meet Friday morning (welcome to camp starting Thursday!) Return to camp after each workday. Sunday, wrap up by lunch and head home.

Refundable deposit: $25
Why do I need to pay a deposit? We've had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute, which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservations. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho.
