To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, Idaho Trails Association is hosting a presentation on the Gospel-Hump Wilderness. We will discuss the history and future of Central Idaho’s often overlooked Wilderness Area, some of the best routes to explore this mysterious region in the Salmon River Mountains, as well as volunteer trail work and monitoring opportunities through Idaho Trails Association.
ITA’s Idaho Centennial Trail Coordinator will be leading the discussion. Clay is a 10,000-mile long distance hiker and has led volunteer trips in the Gospel Hump since 2016. Over the course of a 5-year trail monitoring project, he has hiked almost every mile of trail within the Wilderness Area. Come learn more about this spectacular hidden gem of the Idaho backcountry and how you can get out there and explore it yourself!
