About our Veterans Program

ITA’s Veterans Program provides a supportive environment where active duty and retired service members can engage in mission-focused public land stewardship. This program offers veterans the opportunity to learn valuable trail maintenance skills while finding camaraderie with fellow veterans who share a love for the outdoors. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or new to trail work, our program welcomes volunteers of all experience levels.

No prior trail maintenance experience is necessary to participate. Our knowledgeable crew leaders provide all the necessary training and guidance, ensuring that everyone can contribute effectively and safely. Through this program, veterans can connect with nature, build lasting friendships, and make a tangible impact on Idaho’s beautiful trails.

Join us in preserving our public lands and creating a strong community of veteran trail stewards! Please contact trails@idahotrailsassociation.org if you have any questions about our Veterans Program

We arrived as strangers, bonded as a team, and left as family forever changed by this experience! I greatly appreciate that I was asked to participate in the first Two Wolf Female Stewardship Program Class WST#005 and look forward to seeing how this amazing opportunity grows and continues to serve Warriors and our Public Lands. Thank you to all those that make this experience possible!
