Project Name: Upper Basin Interpretive Trail
Date: June 7
Join us for a National Trails Day Project to work on brushing and drainage work on the Upper Basin Interpretive Trail. This is an easy, family friendly, 5-mile loop, and is a popular trail on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest used by hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. The interpretive trail includes markers along the route, guiding you through lush forests and highlighting the area’s old growth stands. Spring wildflowers may be present in the meadows.
For anyone interested in camping before or after the project, there are many dispersed sites in Elk River, near the Upper Basin trailhead.
National Trails Day, held on the first Saturday in June, is a day dedicated to advocacy and trail service through public events. Volunteers from across the country unite to work on trail projects and give back to their local communities, committed to improving trails for others. Join us for one of ITA’s many statewide projects to celebrate this day!
Project information is subject to change. Crew leaders will communicate via email. Failure to respond to your crew leader may result in being dropped from the project. See our FAQs, reach out to your crew leader, or contact ITA staff at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org if you have questions.
