Project Name: Beetop – Roundtop 

Project Dates: August 9-10 

Beetop-Roundtop trail is considered one of the most beautiful in northern Idaho and ITA has been helping keep it in good shape since 2016. 

Starting from the top of Wellington Creek Road, we'll do three days of tread work, brushing, and sawing out logs along the Beetop-Roundtop Trail. We'll return to the trailhead each day to camp together. This beautiful alpine trail stays high all the way as it heads north to Trestle Peak. High above Lake Pend Oreille, this trail provides great views of the mountains and valleys of northern Idaho, northwest Montana, and even British Columbia.  

This section of trail is also part of the Idaho Centennial Trail, and ITA is committed to maintaining sections of this 1,000-mile trail each year.

Trails: Beetop-Roundtop Trail #120 

Itinerary: This is a two-day project. We'll begin work Saturday morning (volunteers welcome to camp overnight starting Friday), wrap up mid-day Sunday. The crew leader will specify the meeting time and place in their pre-trip emails.

Refundable deposit: $25 

Why do I need to pay a deposit? We've had trouble with people backing out of trips at the last minute which can really affect the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee, volunteers are less likely to cancel their reservation. Refunds will not be given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you require assistance in paying for this fee, please contact us at trails@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.
