Trail Talks: Idaho Wilderness Trail

Loading Events

Join us for an hour-long webinar with father and son duo Tom and Will Gattiker to talk about their experience on the Idaho Wilderness Trail! This 296-mile trail covers some of the most wild and remote areas in the Frank Church-River of No Return, Selway-Bitterroot, and Sawtooth Wilderness.

In this online presentation, Will and Tom will share their experiences and photos of their nearly 30 days on the trail, how they planned their meals and resupplies, complications they faced along the way, and practical suggestions for those wanting to plan their next thru hike or weekend getaway! Three backcountry roads separate the four distinct trail sections and can be hiked all together or separately on shorter trips. This trail was conceived by outdoor writer Mike Lanza in partnership with the Idaho Conservation League.

About the speakers: Tom Gattiker is a 56-year-old university professor who teaches supply chain management at Boise State and Will is a 23-year-old biochemist who lives in Bend, Oregon.
