Dan Isaak is a fisheries research scientist with the US Forest Service that lives in Boise. His research over the last decade has focused on conservation and management of native aquatic species throughout the western U.S., with a special emphasis on trout and salmon in the northern Rocky Mountains. To accomplish that research, Dan’s research teams rely on the use of large crowd-sourced datasets collected by professionals from many natural resource agencies and citizen scientists.
